Medical reasons or tangled/matted fur, I can understand. But cosmetic? Just because they want Fluffy to look cute and show him off to the neighbors to laugh at? There are "hairless" cats, though: The Sphynx being one of them. They have fur, but it's so short as to be virtually non-existent.
