The long-awaited sequel to 12 Seals (link) will take place this Friday (14 September, 2007) at 7pm EST. Don't worry about the levels of your character (Kal'Mah is pretty rugged), but it's *RECOMMENDED* that your character be at least a level 20. I take take into account the average level of the party and adjust accordingly. During my events, if your char dies, it gets free rezzes for the duration, but all chars should stock up on Resurrection scrolls (available at the Trasa Magic Shop and other fine retailers) or Raise Dead scrolls. Can you help save the planet? Find out when Kal'Mah returns!

MUCH thanks to ROOT Of All Evil for building the upcoming event area on short notice.
He put up with my demands, suggestions, counter-suggestions, and my being a general pain in the a**.
ON TOP OF ALL THAT, he's doing his coursework for college!
Thank you, ROOT!

ROOT understands the natural order of things, that's why. That I am Right and soon to become Lord Protector of Britain? Well, there's that.... I think he was referring to the fact that WOMEN control the world (as much as men like to think they do).

The gang seemed to enjoy it. 4 veterans of the mod and two newcomers. Tris Wilkinson (Newest CBI Chief Of Station, Ynarra), Mirami Munei (grand-daughter of our favorite skanklet, Reth), Willemina (a backpack-carrying-White Lady-worshiping penguin), Amir ( a junior dragon whose favorite thing in the world is to give wedgies to unsuspecting individuals), Damnation (a being from another planet whose powers and abilities...no, that's Superman), and Memnoch (I think he's a vampire) were the PC's.
The event actually started about 30 minutes ahead of time with the announcement by the Eye In The Sky that a minor power drain had been detected in Alta's Power Station. At that point it was merely announcements. Repair 'bots needed, supervisors being called, etc.
A fire was detected by the E.I.T.S. and fire crews were dispatched to sublevel 16. Soon after, a call was placed for EMT's to respond, as two fire crew members had been hurt. An evacuation of the complex was ordered. Still just announcements at this point.
Finally, a scientist called for help to which our intrepid heroes responded with all the aplomb of a well-oiled floor.
The scientist swore them all to secrecy about "Sublevel 16," then went on to explain that "They" had collected many interesting artifacts over the years and would like to save them all.
Did I mention that the facility was on fire? The generators were burning like cord wood in the desert; nice and toasty. Amir even parked his butt on a flame because it was so warm.
As befits adventurers and adventuring, as they proceeded to poke around the complex for the cause of said semidestruction, they encountered one P.O.'d robot. After dispatching it, they ran across several more of the out-of-whack Autobots and neatly wiped the floor with scraps of metal.
After making sure that no more robots were lurking in the dark recesses of the complex, our merry crew proceeded through the rest of it...sort of...
They were beset by several different alien species (shockingly arriving right on cue), which turned to so much chunky salsa under the ministrations of our band of heroes (and critters).
As every DM who has run more than two PnP games knows, campaigns rarely go as planned. Same thing with NWN events. I had expected all of the action to take place inside the Lab. Oh, sure, I could have just ignored what happened next, but it's more fun to let the players run around and "make" their own events. As everyone knows, DM's have to think quickly...especially when we tout the fact that we don't take ourselves too seriously.
One of the objects in the lab is a Stargate. While Willemina the penguin was examining it, Tris pushed her in.
Quick (like the hour hand on a watch), I ported the penguin to sOUldOUrn rOAd. Fortunately for her, she had the presence of mind to not move a muscle until the rest of the team caught up to her. Eventually, the rest of the crew showed up, fought off some triggered baddies (ones that are spawned by the mod itself), and found a large device which strangely resembles the one in the lobby of the Alta Science Academy. Tris (being Tris) poked it, suddenly spawning about 10 portals to Who-Knew-Where.
After porting around a bit in Dimension Y (they found some green and red floating crystals, which were promptly fooled with and/or destroyed), they wound up on a cliff overlooking Kal'Mah (who was quite perturbed that his realm had been disturbed).
They taunted him then started whacking away at him. After about 5 minutes of this, it was deemed that with his armor and jewelry, he was a wee-bit too tough to just whack. HINT: In his armor, Kal'Mah is ALMOST impervious to conventional swords and slug-throwers. I made a slight adjustment and turned them all loose again. This time, the battle lasted about 2 minutes, at the end of which, Willemina put his body in her pack.
Now, our heroes had to find a way out.
Tris decided to mess with the blue crystal (which had been conveniently placed on the next screen) and was transported to the bombed out ruins of the once-glorious city of Alta. The city was toast. The rest of the crew showed up to state that: yes, it was indeed a burned hulk of a city.
Looking around, they found a lone survivor who told them that the Power Station had blown up several days ago....and his shoes were ruined. He had paid good money for those shoes and now would have to throw them away. A shame, too. Smucci's are expensive.
As Tris tried to cuff him (Good job, by the way, SoD. Even though he wasn't a suspect, standard procedure would be to cuff them so they won't be a danger to the crew or themselves while transporting), he escaped and ran off to parts unknown (presumably to be cooked by the growing radiation in Alta).
The E.I.T.S reported to the CBI HQ that several survivors had been detected in Alta and should be evacuated immediately. WHOOSH! The group was whisked to the CBI HQ's Ready Room. Due to a slight miscalculation earlier in the game, the factions had been compromised and a server reset was called.
Upon returning to the mod, they made their way to the Trasa Sheriff's office to be debriefed by none other than Chief Of Station, Trasa Diana Skelly. Willemina unceremoniously dumped Kal'Mah's already-regenerating body on the floor at which time Agent Skelly almost died of heart failure. She ordered an immediate quarantine of the Sheriff's Office (Ever notice how the Sheriff and the Mayor just accept all of this as happening on a regular basis? I'm surprised the Mayor hasn't made the CBI move quarters), and had the group transported to the newly repaired Sublevel 16 facility (the paint was still wet). The facility was deserted because all of scientists were being decontaminated and/or buried.
Those that weren't CBI agents were made agents (They really did all volunteer. I didn't push them into it), and were each given the Blue Shield of Dignity Award.
By the way, Matt, ROOT and I decided to modify the BotCo Power Core Event area as starting from scratch would've taken too long in the short time we had to build it. If you want it deleted, I'll be happy to build another area, now that I have time. ROOT got the final edition of the area in the game slightly less than hour before the event started. But, like a good little DM, I had a backup area in mind.
Thanks to all who participated. It was as much fun for me as it was for you.
Now, then....*gets to work on the Re-return of Kal'Mah*

I mean we actually ripped out the BotCo area, added and subtracted some stuff, renamed (changed the tags and rezrefs) it and put it in as "Authroized Personnel Only."
