Matt posted something similar to this on another board, but I'm going to reiterate what he said.
If you already have an Aeonite Chunk, a Matrix Crystal, Snorf Nose, Whatever, and pick up another one, PLEASE don't sell it at a commonly used basics store(Trasa, Valos, Alta, etc).
If you are high enough level to get these items, then you are high enough level to find an "out-of-the-way" place to sell them.
Remember, exporation and anticipation are keys to this game. If a newbie walks into Balandur's and sees the Aeonite Stone, he/she/it will snap it up and gain instant access to the rarities shop. Then he'll bug everyone in his party to give him Eight Billion Dollars for that Super-Duper Aeonite Thing-of-Multiple Blasting.
Use common sense when selling Rare items.

I am bumping this again. I have found more rarities items in the Trasa basic store. Since I felt it needed repeating, I gave a quick shout that this was not to be done. It was brought to my attention by a concerned player that the Trasa store is where the best rates are and other stores have caps. Well, back in the day, there wasn't a break in selling at any store. But that was exploited, hence the selling only to basic shops and a few others. I have been told that the cave dweller store offers good rates. But I have contridictly been told that the cave dweller store has caps as well. The problem. The DM's do not want selling of rarities to the Trasa basic store. Being unreasonable, irrational, stubborn, oddjobs; lets figure that to be a constant. Also a constant, the players, being greedy obtuse weirdos want the most credits for the least effort. And at this time, Trasa seems to be the least effort. I am open to suggestions... my first thought was asking HazM to put a cap on the Trasa store. But, I would like to hear opinions on an alternate solution. The best thing about the server is that there are so few hard and fast rules. I really would like to come to an agreement on this soon. Just to be clear: It's not the Lizard Queen armor or other items (Wand of CBI-disintegration, Sword of Justice), but the things that give access to the Rarities shop. If you have a "Sword of Ultimate Death" and want to sell it, that's up to you. You bought it, after all.
