Earlier in the thread, Aszhra mentioned soemplace to mix chemicals. That would be pretty cool.
"Mr. Weerd's's Olde Fashioned Alchemical Bar" or some such

mix chemicals?
would the chemicals be seperate items that produce a diffrent item when mixed?

"What else do we need?"
High end bows which can do some damage and hit the Epic beasties?

In the polls, a question was asked, what to do about cheating.
Giving equipment or coin enough to afford to purchase equipment by the lessers. I was given to think about characters receiving starting packages based upon the lvl of the class(es) of made character.
Warrior kit Priest kit Wizard kit Rogue kit
Have a list of items that are pulled from as a basic outfitters kit. Items would be totally random based on lvl. 1 bonus item per starting lvl. eg. rogue 5th lvl, 10 charges, black grease paint, +5 to hide 10 charges, weapon black, +5 to hide 2 small pillows, +5 to move silently 1 black dye pack 1 vial of sleep poison, 3 charges anyways, you get the idea.

if you are worried about a balanced starting kit... keep in mind that when you make a fresh char the NWN game engine already gives you a basic starting package best suited to your current level.
i think Matt had the right idea by having the starting package guy offer you xp and gold in a ratio in inverse proportions to each other.
as an experienced dm, pnp, i dont believe in basic starting packages..... what good is a longsword gonna do someone that is playing a desert knife fighter?
a bit of gold, a bit of xp, and the player can build the char he or she wants and get the kit she would like.
take your Ana for instance.... did the kit she was given at char creation make her unplayable? could she not survive in itropa without all the really neat items that you pick up later in the game?
in short, the starting packages are not broken. they dont need to be fixed.

Is poisoning sheep the only way some guys can....nevermind, that's SLEEP poison, please resume your ideas.

But then nobody gets a wedgie... galactic wedgies are half the reason we keep Krav on staff.
