One of my favorite things is to run events. I try to come up with fun things and drop them at random on the player's heads.
We also keep the server on a fairly even keel and look for obnoxious miscreants ("creeps", to those of you who didn't understand that last phrase.)
We punish or reward those that deserve it.
We also act as arbitrators in disputes. I've settled several disputes in the past and will probably settle several more. These disputes have little or nothing to do with "I have level 298 armor and he hit me and killed me in one swipe."
They are more along the line of John Doe harassing Jane Smith every time she logs on to the server. Jane can have fourteen different characters, yet John proceeds to harass the person at the keyboard (not the characters). John just doesn't like Jane.
So Jane finally gets fed up with it and leaves. I don't really blame her, it seems that the DM's aren't doing their jobs, and she's not one to complain.
If someone comes to me with a problem, I try to solve it as soon as possible. Some of you have seen how fast I can act. I don't tolerate BS from ANYONE.
I had no idea of a recent occurrence until a player left. I've worked hard to get that player to come back, and it worked.
I pride myself on being able to resolve issues quickly and without a lot of muss-and-fuss. Also, what you say to me will stay between you and me if you ask. In certain circumstances, though, it will be necessary to let the other DM's know what's going on. In that case, I will simply leave your name out of it and list you as "a player."
You can PM me, tell me IG, or for REAL privacy, use my email addy.
Obviously, I don't want it to turn into "He said this to me once," or "She attacked me once for no reason." I'll get both sides of the story and then make my decision. Sometimes, I'll post the problem in the Admin section and ask for advice from the other DM's.
If another DM makes a decision that goes against you, you can plead your case to me if you want, and I'll listen. But, I will back the DM 100%. Just as in a PnP game, the DM has the final word. Take your lumps, suck it up, and get on with playing.
Bottom line: If you have a problem, if no else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire the "A-Team."
Seriously, feel free to ask me any questions or come to me with problems. That's why we're here. ;D
