Added some stuff. Fixed some stuff. Did some other stuff.
1-8-06
Itropa: Now with 50% more magnetism! Because YOU demanded it! There's now an autofollow widget available for sale at Balandur's Basics.
1-7-06
Okay, there's a Flower Shop and a Holosuite business in East Trasa. Dimension Y is "finished"... or it darn well better be. If you decide to venture into the final area of Dimension Y, bring some friends, and lots of "Raise Dead" items. A few bug fixes this update as well.
1-1-06
Happy New Year!
Today's update is brought to you by the letters F and U. Mostly this update is to fix certain exploits, to stop people from getting unlimited money. Unfortunately, some of the changes might seem a little bit drastic, sorry. Most merchants are no longer willing to pay much money for your loot. In the words of Douglas Adams, "Don't Panic". The "Basic" shop in each town will still pay a reasonable amount, still uses appraise checks, and (most) still buy stolen items. Also fixed a few other minor bugs that were bugging me. On the plus side, there are several new items in the game, thanks to Lord Surge.
12-26-05
Well, you can tell the kids, Santa's dead. The crafting menu now includes scrying functions. Your character now saves when you rest. There's some new items out there, somewhere, I'm sure of it.
12-11-05
The "Time Stop" spell should now only affect the area you are in... but don't quote me on that. Primals now have the track ability. The C.A.R. guild (for Robots and Cyborgs) is now open. This is a player-run guild, so there is no scripted way to join. You'll need to ask around to get in. Some of the custom summons/pets have been given new scripts, hopefully they'll work more like the in-game summons. The "Meat Shield" summon no longer regens.
12-10-05
There's now a tailor store in Trasa, using a script by Milambus Mandragon. Please report any bugs/exploits that this shop may have.
12-3-05
There is now a dye store in Kora, for those who don't like or can't use the AutoDye software. Congratulations to Roger Farsight, Sparkle Twitterfly, and Perri Winkle, as the first killers of Psycho Santa. Santa is now a little bit harder, but his loot is slightly better too.
12-1-05
He sees you when you're sleeping,
He knows when you're awake,
He only spawns once per reset,
And his loot is yours to take.
You better watch out, you better not pout,
You'll probably die, if your level's not high,
Psycho Santa's coming to town.

Our message board has a new home: itropa.proboards67.com/index.cgi
Please take the time to make an account there, so we can hear your thoughts.
I changed the teleportation system a lot. If you belong to an organization that has its own transporter (Norgalla, Bounty Hunters, etc), you no longer need a seperate pass to teleport there, as it is based on your membership item (ring, etc). I have deleted the Transporter Software Expansion Packs. If you have already bought one, my apologies. All Datareader-based teleportation costs 1 B-cell now, and is based on your passes and guild memberships.
For software-based teleportation, you must have the pass/ring/etc in your own inventory to teleport. For computer-based teleportion, it's based on party ownership; ie, only one person in your party needs to own the city pass for you to teleport to that city. The one exception being guilds and churches, you must still own your own pass. After all, we can't have non-members strolling around the Bounty Hunter guild.
I've also added an area called "Fairy Haven", which is sort of a home base for fairies. Fairies have the ability to teleport there for the price of a Violet.
The Talo-Ka rings, the Ring of Housecalls, and the Knowledge Society escape device now work differently, and cost an "A" cell to use.
11-3-05
Some of the more mature areas have been locked, unless you possess an "adult key". You can get an adult key from the computer terminal behind the transport bot in this room. Or you can get one from the OOC room at Chela's. Do not get an adult key unless you are of legal age to do so. The same computer terminal is also the OOC E-text dispenser, and character fixer. For those of you who wanted to know more about subraces, that's where you can read it, but you have to go through processing first. Btw, please play a normal character for a while, to get the feel for the mod, before you try any subraces.
10-20-05
Added a coin collector to the mall in Alta. Works the same way as the coin converter software, except that it's free. Like the software, this is Itropa's version of a persistent banking system. Just convert your excess money into Marae coins, and you won't lose as much money when you die. PLEASE e-mail me immediately if he doesn't work right, or if you find any way to exploit this system - kjwhisper@hotmail.com
10-14-05
Made a few minor additions, probably nothing you'll notice. I just didn't want you to think I'd abandoned the mod. Fairies can now summon fairy companions, and the Primal subrace can select a different appearance for those who want to be geneticly altered mutants or "were-creatures".
9-17-05
Alta is now 30% bigger, but there's nothing to do in the new area yet. Also I changed the music in a few areas.
9-4-05
Added some new Marae forms, exclusive to those who have shifter levels.
9-3-05
Added the "Mutant Class S" subrace, and a "Starting Package Guy" for new players.
8-22-05
Added a large underground area.
7-8-05
We now have two more original subraces, "Primal" and "Veggie".
7-4-05
"Vacation Island" is a new RP hotspot for characters who like the beach. It's near the Western Docks. The Haunted Bed & Breakfast now has a "ride" you can go through. There is a new ship captain who will take you from Trasa to the Western Docks and back. There's another captain at the Western Docks who will take you... somewhere.
6-17-05
There's some new stuff northeast of Valos, past the frozen crater. Should be pretty hard, so stock up before you go.
6-11-05
You can finally enter some of the mansions in Eastern Trasa. Not much in there, except a few chests to rob. Be careful, they do have security systems. Also, I forgot to mention it when I added it, but the merchant farmer in Fertilund actually sells vegetables now.
6-10-05
Nothing big. You can now walk all the way around the outside of Valos. The road from Alta to Valos is slightly longer. There are two new caves to explore, one full of wild penguins and the other full of polar bears. Neither cave is related to any quests... yet. The map on the website has been updated:
mywebpages.comcast.net/mattkj/itropa.html
Btw, EZBoard seems to be wrapping up it's problems, but I'm going to wait until I'm 100% sure they're done attempting to restore old posts before I repost the rules, lest anything get double-posted. I am told that it is perfectly fine to continue making new posts, so feel free. The board is here:
p067.ezboard.com/bitropa
6-2-05
EZBoard seems to be having issues right now, but they promise things will be fixed soon. There is now a library/bookstore in Trasa. Players may submit thier own stories if they wish, they don't even have to be set in the world of Itropa (after all, their science fiction could be set in any universe). Just send your stories to kjwhisper@hotmail.com. There is also a new Bed & Breakfast in Trasa, but that's pretty much just for RP purposes.
5-21-05
Added new "Henchman Software" to Alta Software shop. Expansion packs are planned soon. Please let me know if there's any bugs or exploits in this software. kjwhisper@hotmail.com
4-30-05
You can now join the Inner Eye guild. But it ain't easy.
4-19-05
Valos is slightly larger than it used to be, as are the icy areas east of Valos. Also, earlier this week a new guild opened in Grunthar, the "Brute Squad".
4-9-05
There's new "Masterwork" instruments for sale at the Virtuoso College. I haven't tested them much yet, but each instrument casts a different song that effects up to six party members. Let us know if there's any bugs in the system, or if you think they're unbalancing. I can always raise the DC if they're too powerful. These instruments can only be used by bards.
3-26-05
There's a new scripted quest. Look for a whiny little boy in West Trasa. Really, you can't miss him.
3-24-05
In our continuing efforts to make this area more low-level-friendly, there's a new "Beginner's Battle Training" business in Trasa. You can only use it until you hit level 13, but you probably won't have much use for it past level 7 or so. Also, I've been adjusting the stats of the Water Spiders in the new Trasa Cove and Flooded Cave areas (from Trasa go West, then North), so they should be more newbie-friendly now.
3-5-05
Tired of your level 1 character getting killed every five minutes by bandits? To the batcave! There's a new cave just west of Trasa, filled with easy-to-massacre bats and snakes. I doubt they give much XP, but it's something to do. Also, there's a new area with man-eating plants. Try exploring the mountain areas northeast of Trasa. Or download the map again from the website: mywebpages.comcast.net/mattkj/itropa.html
Also, Dr Exhumus speaks to you before you fight him, and non-RDDs can now join the Talo-Ka cult (for a price).
2-26-05
Seven more bounties (only for Elite hunters), and some various tweaks and fixes.
2-13-05
I added several new bounties this weekend, so please let me know if any of them don't work right. I also added a new cavern area, if you're into spelunking.
2-9-05
Added four more bounties. I still haven't tested them fully, so let me know if they don't work right. Also added a new area for worshippers of Talo-Ka, the exotic dragon goddess.
2-6-05
The Bounty Hunter Guild finally has a bounty! I'm going to stop at just one for the moment, until I'm absolutely sure the scripts are set the way I want them. Once I'm satisfied, expect about 15 more.
1-27-05
Fairies, fairies, fairies! The mod's most out-of-place subrace is now improved! Now 50 percent cheesier! Fairies have their own tavern, which also doubles as the fairy item shop. Hate fairies? Lying just outside Kora's gates is a new area specificially designed for people who like to hunt fairies. But be wary, some of those fairies can be tough.
1-23-05
There is now a piece of software available which allows you to convert gold into Marae coins, and back. In the future, there will be Marae merchants who only accept these tokens as payment. But more importantly, this is an easy version of a banking script. By converting your gold into Marae money, you'll have less to lose when you die. Just be careful of pickpockets. Anyway, I've tested this, but there's still lots of ways it could go wrong. So pleeeeeeease let me know if you find any way to exploit this software. If anyone finds a way to abuse this script to make money, and they don't report it to me, heads will roll.
1-20-05
Hey, guess what? The Marae merchants no longer speak english! To speak to them, you'll either have to be a Marae, or own some sort of translation device.
1-18-05
Worked on the "Pleasure Palace" in Valos. Note that the Pleasure Palace is intended as a place for adult players to hang out. It's slightly raunchier than the rest of the mod.
1-17-05
Back from vacation, so the mod should be running more consistently again. Added a pet shop and a graveyard to Trasa. Added a basic supplies shop to Mil. Moved some items around a little between existing merchants in several towns. Added buyable henchmen-bots to the Bounty Hunter Guild. Tweaked some of the buyable henchmen-bots from some of the other merchants, like Trasa Basics and BotCo Industries.
1-9-05
You can now buy action figures (summons) from the toy stores in Trasa and Alta. Also check out BotCo Industries for some buyable robots. We haven't had time to fully test them, so let us know if there are any problems.
1-6-05
I'm trying out some different options for the OnRespawn and OnDying, so let me know if you experience any problems or have any input. The module will be a bit on the unstable side until January 18th, while we go through some changes. There might be times when the mod isn't restarted for several days, and days when the mod isn't up at all.
1-1-05
Happy New Year! Added three new holotraining programs to the Bounty Hunter Guild. A warning, a couple of the new programs are very difficult, and designed for high level characters. Also, there's a robot fighting arena in Alta now. It still needs some work, so don't spawn in too many robots at once or you could slow the mod down.
12-19-04
Made a few minor fixes, nothing you'll notice. There probably won't be any updates for a little while, due to the release of KOTOR 2... but if any specific problems come up, write me and I'll try to work it in.
12-12-04
Finished up (except for testing) Isla Morpha, the mod's hardest area... It probably won't see any use for a while, though, as parts of it require groups of epic-level characters. Also added another clothing shop to Trasa.
12-11-04
You can now join the two religious cults, Norgalla and Ris Kiree. (But not at the same time.) Fixed the "Random Teleport" script on the Teleportation software.
12-8-04
Added more functionality to the DataReader, and some new skills for the Cyborg and Robot subraces. The subraces will find their new skills available in the Craft Armor menu, but they will require power crystals to work. The new DataReader functions require specific software to work. There has been a major change to the DataReader's "Teleportation" function. The older software will no longer work. I think I've removed all the older software from the stores, but some might still be out there.
12-5-04
Finished a few tweaks on the Bounty Hunter Guild. The actual bounty quests aren't active, but the holographic training programs seem to work. If you want to check it out, it's in Valos. We also have a website now:
home.comcast.net/~mattkj/itropa.html
11-20-04
Itropa is finally back online. About two months ago, Itropa lost two month's worth of progress when the hard drive crashed. We've learned to make backups a bit more frequently now. Anyway, we're gradually rebuilding the mod, and restoring it to it's former state.
Added some stuff. Fixed some stuff. Did some other stuff.
