I have a sneaking suspicion that Hazmatt loaded the "old" mod (with all the bugs, insta-rest, jumping ahead, etc.). I also noticed that the Appearance-ator is gone again.
I'm not the only one it's happening to. I've gotten a couple of comments from other players.

It's the same version of the mod; I transferred it myself, then removed the Appearance-ator using the toolset. However, it is a different computer. I'll see if there's anything I can do to speed the 'puter up, so that Itropa is the only thing it has to think about. But beyond that, I'm clueless.

The mod is getting bad. I played for a little bit just now. Should have been bombarded with baddies. Instead, my char leapt over quite a few triggers and right into the boss. By the time I saw that the boss was right on top of me, my health was almost gone. *whine whine whine* Can I have some cheese, too ?

on another note is it possible to move the server to another network port or something so it can be know if its a server speed issue or a network/internet latency issue?

I just moved it to a different port, but don't get your hopes up. I'm pretty sure it's the computer. The last time there were complaints about jumping/insta-rest, it was when Itropa was temporarily running on that computer. Edit:The mod might be down for the next hour or so. If we can't find a way to fix these issues, maybe we'll politely ask ROOT for his services once again. Edit 2:Hmmm... Even though the computer had it at port 4, the actual ethernet cable was plugged into port 2. Now both are port 4. Might that make a difference? I don't know much about networks, so any other ideas would be helpful. Also I ran Ad Aware, ran a virus scanner, uninstalled any unneeded programs, made sure no unnecessary programs were running in the background at startup, defragmented the hard drive, and set the screensaver to "blank screen". So the computer should be at optimum speed. Let me know how the server is running.

Apparently, you did all the right things. I logged in for a brief time tonight and it seemed to work just fine. Moving the plug to port 4 probably fixed it right off. The comp was expecting to get its signals from P4 and was sending replies to P4. The router was interpreting the signals as being directed to P4. Technically, it shouldn't have made a difference, I guess your router is just as goofy as you are. I'll try to log in tomorrow night and give it more of a workout.

actually wouldn't the router be expecting to send signals to the port with 255.255.255.255 IP (whatever the PC is) and the PC sending them back to the gateway address ports don't matter as far as I'm away as links within a router are dynamic. The thing i don't understand is "Even though the computer had it at port 4, the actual Ethernet cable was plugged into port 2" what do you mean "the computer had it at port 4"? do you mean the computer has multiple network cards? what gave you that information?

Remember I don't know much about network configuration, so type slowly. First a couple of questions: How do I find out what port the computer thinks it is? What is the best way to figure out your local IP address? When I type "ipconfig" in the DOS window, it goes away too fast to read anything; how do I get that window to stay?
Anyway, the NWServer program lists your local IP address in the upper right. Mine lists it as 192.168.2.4:5121 (the 4 indicating which computer on the network, according to my router's setup guide), even though it was plugged into port 2 of the router. When I changed ports, I expected that number on the NWServer to change as well, but it's been 4 ever since the beginning.

oh!!!! right the IP is completely independent of the port on the router, the IP is assigned by the DHCP or is manually set by you

How do I find out what port the computer thinks it is? My Computer> Administrative Tools> Computer Management> Modems> "modem type" (mine is an Agere Win Modem, yours may be different)> Click the tab that says "modem." The port will be listed at the top and say "Port: COM X" (where X is the actual number of the port). Maximum Port Speed should be set to the highest setting. Don't worry, you won't bugger the system. What you are doing is setting the port to move data at the highest possible rate. The machine will adjust accordingly. Once you have set the Max Port Speed, click "Okay" and close all the windows. Think of a garden hose. When you turn it on full blast, you are telling "the system" to let as much water through as possible. But, if the water pressure in the mains is only a trickle, that's what you will get. Your machine will be fine. Start> All Programs> Accessories> Command Prompt This brings up a fake DOS prompt where the system will act like the old MS-DOS. When you get finished, just close the window. 192.168.xxx.xxx is the number assigned by the router. 5121 is the port number from the router that allows NWN to access the Net. To find out your ACTUAL IP, go here: whatsmyip.org/

I played for a while tonight, and I saw a lot of the server jumping and insta-resting you mentioned. Particularly when I clicked an area transition, it would often transition me before I was anywhere near the actual door. Plus I can open doors from across the room.
However, I didn't seem to jump over any enemy triggers. Even when I seemed to hop here and there, the right number of enemies always ended up following me.
Btw, I checked out what you said about the modem properties (mine is also Agere), and it was already at the highest port speed (115200).
ETA: Also, a couple of players complained about it just before logging off. I hope they aren't gone for good. So any other suggestions would be great. Going back to the older computer is not an option.

Possible fix, assuming you're running a dual core system. Go to nwnplayer.ini and set Client CPU Affinity= to one of the processors in your sytem
