It has come to my attention that players are possibly selling and/or giving their badges to other players/chars.
If this is the case, DM intervention will be requested.
For goodness sake, all you have to do is come to a meeting/event and you'll get one. If there's a DM present, you might even get XP out of the deal.
Several players have had to bail due to crashes or other matters and they still get badges. It involves a little RP....

This might just be my suspicious nature, but I don't think the badge itself is the point. Personally, I don't think they want the other characters to actually belong to the CBI, but just to have access to the CBI area. If they're using the badge to buy CBI-exclusive stuff at the CBI store, they should be punished swiftly.
I might work on an alternate way of giving out the CBI badges, so they can't be given away. However, this won't stop CBI members from buying CBI-exclusive equipment and transferring it to their other characters. Any non-CBI members found with CBI items will be in trouble.

Steph, feel free to create a 'true list' of CBI members, so I can scan players' inventories for illegally gained items//badges, judging against it.

While shoddy stuff like that should be punnished, two questions. 1: how to tell the difference? as alot of the stuff from the CBI store is avalibe from the gun nut store. 2: what happens if somebody flogs it to a basics store to replace said Item with something else, and the second person then buy's it? Granted you could make the Requsitions bot able to buy stuff back, which might work.

A lot of the CBI stuff is labeled as such.
Lord Surge, the "true agent" list is posted under "CBI at a Glance" as soon as we complete an event. Consultants and Arch-Nemisises (arch-nemesi?) ARE NOT to have any CBI equipment. Only agents (agents include CBI SWAT) on the list are authorized to have badges and CBI equipment. If someone claims that they are an agent, but have notten their badge yet, please ask either me or Pat for clarification.
I'd prefer that our DM's didn't have to scan inventories, as this takes away from their game time and other duties, but, alas, I'm sorry it has come to this.
To the DM's: Thanks for backing me on this.
Pat: Feel free to email/PM with any new agents and I'll post them.

Oops, forgot you'd already done that.
Please pardon my request, as it's already fulfilled.
Good to think ahead.

Maybe I'll change the OnEquip script so that if a non-CBI member puts on CBI clothing/weapons, it explodes

I found a CBI Stunstick in Balandur's Basics and bought it for a non-CBI char. I finally came to the realization that if military equipment can be bought and sold, it's entirely feasable for CBI equipment to find it's way onto the black market. It disappears from the shops at the next reset anyway.
That's NOT a license to buy CBI equipment at HQ and turn around to sell it at the basics shops, though. Please keep it to a minimum.
If you really wanna get rid of it, just take it back to HQ.

That would be my bad.
I flogged a Stunstick on, once I relaised it was pretty (or so it seemed) useless.

Useless, shmuseless, I've seen players with thousands of credits worth of "useless" equipment, just for RP purposes. Myself, I like to carry bags and bags full of odds and ends, just in case certain situations come up.

Oh yeah, have a look at jourgens kit list you'll see plenty of fun stuff.
A bag of CBI badges, some training gear for CBI meets, about 6 different sets of clothes. And a bag of low level stuff to give to new palyers he meets. take your pick. He's still carrying around his old trusty rifle even though agaisnt the badies he meets it's pretty useless.
however with the amount of curesed items he's got, including all those epic bounty hunter chips (why cant they and the BH epic token be rolled into one item? ;D ), I did start thinking of some riot gear. but diceded agaisnt it, due to space reasons.
